JSON Validator

Validate JSON syntax and format or minify the result.

How to use JSON Validator

  1. Paste JSON text or choose a local .json file.
  2. Choose two-space, four-space or minified output.
  3. Validate and format the JSON, then copy or download the result.

What this tool does

Syntax validation does not check an application schema.

Example

The input {"name":"Lee","active":true} is valid JSON and can be formatted with two spaces or minified.

Frequently asked questions

Does a valid result mean the data follows my application's schema?

No. This tool checks JSON syntax only; it does not validate a schema or whether values have the meaning your application expects.

Will the tool repair malformed JSON automatically?

No. Invalid syntax is reported as an error. Correct the source and run validation again; no fields are added or changed.
